What ages are welcome?
All ages from birth through 12th grade are welcome. We have a nursery for ages birth through 3 years. Classes are for PreK – 12th grades.
As a parent what will my role be?
This is a parent-run group so everyone participates. We all teach different classes, help the teachers out, cleaning duties, and a nursery attendant.
What are the fees to join?
Registration fees are $25 per year for families with 1-3 children and $35 per year for families with 4+ children. Each class also has a minimum fee of $5 per class per semester. Costs required for a class will be known before the start of the new semester. This payment is due no later than the first co-op day.
when and Where are the meetings held?
The homeschool co-op meets for classes at Fresh Encounter Church in Harlan, IA but do not occupy the building outside of class time. Class days are on the first and third Thursdays. We meet from 12:45 – 3 pm.
Why is there a fee to join?
The fees cover the cost of material for the classes and for cleaning supplies. Sometimes extra fees are needed for classes to cover more material for that class.
Will there be snacks for my child?
All students will need to bring their own snack to eat if they would like one during the designated snack time.
What if i can not afford the dues or other costs that arise?
Please contact Melanie by email as there are scholarships or discounts available on a case by case basis.
Will there be opportunity for socialization?
Yes! We occasionally get together for a play day. Moms get to relax and socialize while the kids get to play.
